All businesses are legally obligated to annually, on or before March 1st, report ANY hazardous materials or wastes onsite that exceed the following threshold amounts:
55 Gallons or more in a single container
500 Pounds or more in a single container
200 Cubic Feet or more in a single cylinder
California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) is a statewide, web-based system to support businesses and Unified Program Agencies with electronically reporting, collecting, and managing hazardous materials related data as mandated by the California Health and Safety Code.

General Permit for Storm Water Discharges Associated with Industrial Activities (General Permit) requires facilities with Standard Industrial Classifications (SICs) ranging from 2000 through 3999 and 4221 through 4225 to apply for either of the two types of permit coverage, Notice of Intent or No Exposure Certification.
